Your chat history and memories are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB. They are not uploaded to any server, not read by Linen, and not accessible by anyone but you. No government, employer, or insurance company can see what you share with Linen.

Linen uses Firebase (by Google) for three specific things only: your account login, your token balance, and your payment records. This is the minimum needed to let your account work across devices and to prevent token abuse. Nothing about your actual conversations is stored in the cloud.

Your conversations are private. Your account data is secure. No ads, no tracking, ever.

What Stays on Your Device

  • All your conversations with Linen
  • Your saved memories and archived chats
  • Your profile details (name, pronouns, birthday, timezone)

What Lives in the Cloud (Firebase)

  • Your account email and login credentials (required for authentication)
  • Your token balance (so it survives device changes and browser clears)
  • Your preferred name and last visit time (for personalized greetings)
  • Payment records: PayPal order ID, tier, amount, and timestamp (for fraud protection — no card details)

What Linen Never Does

  • Never sells your data
  • Never shares your conversations with anyone
  • Never uses your data for ads or marketing
  • Never trains AI models on your conversations
  • Never tracks your behavior or builds profiles on you

AI Conversations

  • When you send a message, it is transmitted to Google Gemini for processing along with recent conversation context
  • No personally identifiable information is attached to these requests
  • Google's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy
  • AI responses are stored locally on your device only

Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and token balance storage

Data Deletion

Tokens & Payments

  • Free users receive 20 tokens per day, refreshed every 24 hours
  • Each token covers 20 AI messages
  • Additional tokens can be purchased via PayPal (Pro, Popular, Ultimate)
  • All token purchases are final — tokens are non-refundable once granted
  • Purchased tokens do not expire and carry over across sessions
  • Payments are processed by PayPal — Linen never handles or stores card details

You're Responsible For

  • Your device and account security
  • How you use Linen and the content you create
  • Not using Linen in any harmful, illegal, or abusive manner

Linen is Not Liable For

  • Lost local data — export regularly as a backup
